Bargo is situated in NSW, 94 km south west of Sydney and 3k. off the F5 freeway, between the Picton and Mittagong exits. Bargo is a thriving town with an active community, growing rapidly due to convenient freeway access and rural lifestyle.
Bargo has excellent bushwalking tracks and is home to the Wirrimbirra Wildlife Sanctuary. Bargo has many community facilities including a sports ground, skate park, tennis courts, gym and parks. Bargo also has a primary school that caters for Kindergarten to Year 6 and students also attend the nearby Picton High School or Wollondilly Anglican College. Along the main street you will find the chemist and doctors, bakery, butcher, hairdressers, newsagency, grocery stores, liquor store, petrol station, and take away shops. You will also find Bargo Hotel which has accommodation and Bargo Bowling Club.
Bargo has many attractions, including the beautiful Nepean and Avon Dams, and The Dingo Sanctuary and Wirrimbirra Flora and Fauna Reserve. Nepean and Avon Dams are open from 10.am every day, they are well worth a visit, having beautiful scenery and excellent BBQ, picnic and playground facilities.
