Buxton is a small village in Macarthur Region of New South Wales in the Wollondilly Shire. It is bordered by Thirlmere and Balmoral. Buxton is approximately 101km south west of Sydney.
Buxton has a local primary school that caters for Kindergarten to Year 6. Secondary school students can attend Picton High School, Wollondilly Anglican College, or schools in the Southern Highlands, e.g. Bowral High School. Buxton also has a takeaway shop, newsagency, post office, park and sporting oval with BBQ facilities.
Little River is a beautiful swimming hole near Buxton. To get there, park your car at the quarry at the end of Boundary Road, Buxton. Walk about 1km to the river then cross over the river and follow the old farm road to the right. There are about four swimming holes along here.
